Spring 2007 Newsletter

Simple green practices this Spring will largely determine the health and life of your green space, don't get caught in the heat. Green living made simple.

Yes, after a good winter nap your gardens are hungry.

Spread compost on your lawn and garden as feed. Natural or organic compost will not dry out your green ways but chemical fertilizers are sodium based and leave your plants thirsty with under-developed root systems. To prevent this common problem prevalent in the heat of the summer give the ground something to munch on . . . simply spread natural compost and as the weather heats up, follow with mulch.

Spread corn meal gluten to prevent weed seed from germinating, and give your grounds additional nutrition.

Check irrigation systems before you re-set for the spring.

Convert your above ground system to under ground irrigation to reduce water loss, mold and mosquitos.

Call our irrigation experts for a free estimate and only $50.0 0 charge to run through and set your system. (Applies to surrounding areas)

Did you know that by feeding your trees, plants, and lawn with natural fertilizers, or compost you actually help reduce C02 in the atmosphere? Come to our earth day bonanza and learn more about global warming prevention.

Did you know that a good urban composter turns out 9 cubic feet of compost every three weeks? We have them un-assembled and assembled for your convenience. Rated easiest to use!!!

Don't confuse corn meal gluten with corn meal. One is for weed control and feed and the other is for mold control and feeding. We carry both, and now is the best time to spread gluten for weed control as a pre-emergence.
